Eight image-editing apps built over a decade. Over 5 million installs. More than 61,000 people still use them every month, without a rupee ever spent on advertising.
Ten years ago we made a local-language design app for greetings, trolls, posters and memes. Global design tools did not understand Malayalam workflows well enough, so we built for the way Malayalis actually create and share.
The app grew through word of mouth, user reviews and daily use. That pattern shaped the company: build the tool people reach for in their own language, then keep improving it with the community.
We built a simple app that let Malayalis create greetings, trolls and posters in their own language. We never advertised it. It spread by word of mouth, crossed one lakh early downloads, and was featured twice by Mathrubhumi.
Right now our focus is Malayalam. Even when client work took over and the app went years without the attention it deserved, Malayalis kept searching for it, installing it and using it.
A Sanskrit editor built for teachers was launched on Sanskrit Day by Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar. That moment proved the idea was not only Malayalam. The same editor model can work across Indian languages.
As the Facebook community celebrated each milestone, the app kept growing from one lakh installs to one million users. We responded by releasing 100 new Malayalam fonts, giving people more styles for trolls, greetings and posters.
The new Malayalam Image Editor brings the community, exclusive fonts, brand-ready templates, AI background removal and admin tools together into one focused product.
The relaunch is not only a new website. The editor, community and premium tools are live in the product users already know.

Professional custom Malayalam fonts were quoted at around Rs. 20,000 per font. For the scale we wanted, that was not practical, so we built a font-making pipeline ourselves.
Each typeface is produced glyph by glyph for the legacy FML layout our editor supports. That makes the fonts deeply tied to Malayalam Image Editor and difficult for a generic Unicode-only tool to copy.
A shop owner does not only need a beautiful festival greeting. They need that greeting with their logo, phone number, shop name and website placed correctly every time.
Brand Kit saves those details once and applies them to tagged template layers in one tap. Combined with exclusive fonts and community templates, it makes the app a place where a local business can keep its visual identity.
From the beginning, the aim was to build products that become part of everyday life: tools people reach for without thinking, in their own language, for their own moments.
